Crazy times call for crazy measures!
Simple and minimalist in form, yet bombastic in concept: With this in mind, the Schmuck-Design-Objekte studio created a new jewelry collection that combats the virus. It relies on the power of brass, whose properties have been known for centuries. People have always valued it for its warm golden hue, but especially for its antibacterial and antiviral properties.
Beatrice Müller, its creator, named the collection CuNz-X. She and her team craft the alloy entirely by hand in her own workshop. She intentionally rearranged the letters of the brass formula because these are, after all, crazy times that demand a lot from all of us. Standing idly by isn’t her thing, so over the past few weeks she’s created necklaces and masks that give space to desires and one’s own will. Equipped with personalized messages, the “talismans” have a positive effect both externally and internally.
“Jewelry reveals who is behind it from the outside. Especially now, in times of invisibility and cold, it’s important to convey your message and not let your emotions disappear behind a mask,” says the designer. She hopes that people will get through the pandemic with a positive attitude and a smile. To ensure this, she kept a tight budget, as everyone should be able to afford such a piece of jewelry. The well-being of other creative people is also close to the master goldsmith’s heart: To support artists and cultural workers during this difficult time, two euros from each necklace sold goes to the “Nuremberg Artists” campaign.
